A group of four Enid natives has announced plans for a major new data center and power infrastructure development in Enid.
Plainsmen Holdings, LLC, made up of Jason Singer, Aaron Singer, Chad Dillingham and Troy Phillips, announced Project Thunderbird on Tuesday. The proposed development would cover approximately 1,735 acres across four campuses in Enid and include an onsite power generation facility capable of producing up to 3.3 gigawatts.
The four proposed campuses would be located near 42nd and Phillips, North 78th, 30th and Rupe, and South 30th south of Rupe.
According to Plainsmen Holdings, Project Thunderbird could generate tens of millions of dollars annually in new revenue for Enid schools, city services and other community priorities.
Plans also include the Patriot Utility District, which would provide power and fiber infrastructure designed to support backup energy needs at Vance Air Force Base.
If approved, the development plans to use raw water from the Kaw Lake Pipeline along with closed loop cooling technology designed to reduce water consumption.
The project must still go through the City of Enid’s review process and receive approval from the Enid City Commission before moving forward.
There is a lot more to this proposed project. Residents can visit the Project Thunderbird website for additional information, FAQs, details on water and power usage, community protections, proposed campus locations, Vance Air Force Base and more.
